Okay, here's the full list with a bit of my blathering commentary. :D
Performance by an actor in a leading role

[I'd say this was Daniel Day-Lewis's award to lose, but Johnny Depp may be the dark horse. That would be a surprise, though, as DDL's performance carries the entire film - you can't say the same for his previous turn as Bill the Butcher in "Gangs of New York" - and it's painfully complex and masterful. Much as I'd love to see Sweeney get this, DDL is The Man this year, I think.]

I'd be ecstatic to see either of them win.]

[A lot of people don't really know what this category is about, but it tends to favor blockbusters that have lots of explosions and gunplay (or it has in years past), because that's an easy measuring stick of how well a sound effect technician has done their job. I don't really have an opinion on this, but I know there's lots of gunplay (not to mention the sound that air thingy) in "No Country" and there's lots of cool sound stuff with with oil derricks in "Blood."]

[It's very rare for a movie to win Best Picture when its director is not also nominated, so "Atonement" is a long shot. I'd say the old "rule" of most nominated films taking the prize will apply this year, making it a showdown between the two westerns - "No Country For Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood." I'd be ecstatic to see either of them win.]

[A lot of people don't really know what this category is about, but it tends to favor blockbusters that have lots of explosions and gunplay (or it has in years past), because that's an easy measuring stick of how well a sound effect technician has done their job. I don't really have an opinion on this, but I know there's lots of gunplay (not to mention the sound that air thingy) in "No Country" and there's lots of cool sound stuff with with oil derricks in "Blood."]
