I can totally see the Cho thing (setting aside issues of whether Katie and Leanne have been cast). It makes good sense to replace tertiary characters with secondary characters who don't have anything else to do when you're adapting for a movie. Like Arwen meeting the hobbits on the road to Rivendell or something. I mean, I like Glorfindel, but I can understand if Peter Jackson didn't care.

And I totally agree with you, there's no point getting worked up over a rumor that may or may not be true, may or may not be distorted, and might be just fine even if it is true. I would prefer it if the loveliness of the H/G kiss wasn't just a few minutes after a R/L one, but who knows, maybe it will work. Or maybe it's just not the case. And I can't help wondering whether Lavender actually kisses Ron after the *first* Quidditch match, and the thing about it being the Cup is just a garbled report.

I think rumors just catch people unawares, and there's a natural emotional reaction against changes whatever they are, especially anything that impacts a scene that's very important to a lot of people.

Oh, and Kloves for DH is totally fine with me. This series kind of belongs to him as much as David Heyman and Emma Watson; I feel like they all might as well just finish it up. It's not perfect, it's not the way I would do it, but it is what it is. Maybe someday there will be a series planned all at once with the kind of love the LotR movies got (though managing the actors growing up seems like a nightmare). Until then, let them finish what they started.
