- Way to go, Maggie Gylenhaal, reminding Seacrest that "What's it like to be here, and how are you feeling about Heath tonight?" is maybe not a question to ask on a night like this.
- Eeeee, Kate and Leo! *ahem* Sorry, a little Titanic flashback there. LOL, "She's my homey." Still love you, Leo!
- Hahaha, Ryan chasing down Brangelina!
- Ryan, don't embarrass yourself by trying the Spanish accent, dog.
- Switching to NBC now, because Seacrest is gettin' on mah nerves.
- How does Tom Cruise still look like he did in the '80s?
- OMG, my man Robert Downey, Jr.!
- *snort* Sting: "I'm actually just presenting, not nominated tonight."
- That's good of these HUGE stars to wait in line to talk to this airhead.
- I am so wanting to see He's Just Not That Into You. Ginnifer Goodwin is a DOLL.
- New Office: "A duel, I say!"
- Oh God, here goes the supacheezy intro. Did she say "I want to have boobies"?!?!?!
- Call me crazy, but I kind of love J'Lo's gold dress.
- I wish they'd do clips instead of the presenter doing a one-liner about each performance ("As a veteran experienced stripper, Marisa Tomei...")
- YAY, KATE!!! I have to see this movie, but I don't know how. *looks at the $12 in my bank account* ... Awwwww, she was right near Emma Thompson. ... I'm so glad she won, because she's been nominated so many times without winning. ... Gah, I'm going to cry. ... *cries* ... "Sorry, this is going on, I'm just gonna make the most of it." ... "Thank you making me look so old." LOL ... OMG, Anthony Minghella AND Sydney Pollock were producers? That's so sad!
- Best Song. If this doesn't go to Bruce, ima be pissed. Awwww, I do love that Bolt song, but it's gotta go to Bruce. THERE HE IS - OMG he is stil so cute ... YESSSSSSSSSSS! ... Gosh, I can't even SEE Mickey Rourke without crying. ... "This is the only time I'm gonna be in competition with Clint Eastwood." LOLOL!
- Ooooooooh, Carrie is on CW ("EVE WAS WEAK! EVE WAS WEAK!")
- I love that you can tell this is a party because people won't STFU after the commercial break.
- Hey, Rumer Willis is Miss Golden Globes!
- Doogie! (I'll bet he's not tired of hearing that at all.) ... *roots for Tom Wilkinson* ... YAY!!!!!! ... "Frank, whose last name I've forgotten."
- Gosh, I love Eilieen Atkins ... Hehe, Laura Dern. She was fabulous in Recount. Aaaaand she's the first to go political. :P
- I'm glad they're presenting clips for the comedies too this year, instead of just the dramas.
- I love watching the actors squirm as their character is being blurbed. And oh my, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is pretty.
- "We're not here to talk Trek tonight." Um, you kind of just did. ... Why does Kevin Bacon always have crazy hair? ... YAY, ANNA PAQUIN ... Okay, I've never seen True Blood, but I love her. ... LOL, I love when they can't find their way to the stage. ... She's so much more talkative than when she won the Oscar. :P
- Ricky Gervaise shushes the stars! ... "Right on, Winslet - I told ya, do a Holocaust movie--" ... "That is the last time I have sex with 200 journalists." ... I wish he'd have been picked to host the Oscars this year ... I missed my chance to see Happy-Go-Lucky in the theater, and I'm sad about that.
- I don't get the Jonas Brothers thing. ... Okay, animated feature - GO WALL-E! ... Bolt was so cute. ... *loves Kung Fu Panda, too* ... Of COURSE, it was going to be WALL-E. :D ... I love Pixar so much. That must be the greatest place to work ever.
- Hello, my lovely Johnny Depp ... Well, now I'm really sad I missed Happy-Go-Lucky. :P ... I love it when people are so overwhelmed - I just want to hug them! ... LOL, Emma Thompson talking her down! ... She keeps apologizing, it's okay to cry, honey *pats her*
- Heh, I love trying to figure out how people are connected to the films they're presenting. Jake Gyllenhaal, I suppose, is presenting Benjamin Button because he was in a Fincher film.
- Hooo, that is some BIG HAIR, Drew Barrymore! ... Dude, why are she and Jessica Lange acting like girlfriends? ... Hee, "the plural of chad is chad?" ... WHAT is wrong with Miss Drew tonight, is she stoned? ... Man, I love Tom Hanks. He's like the most awesome thing ever.
- Okay, here we go, Supporting Actor ... Okay, these are pretty good blurbs from Demi ... and yeah, I'm going to cry if he ... yep. I'm really glad they're having someone go up and get these awards for him, instead of doing the generic "accept on his behalf" stuff. *sigh* God bless you, Heath.
- Tom Brokaw?!! OH, COOL - Frost/Nixon clip!
- Colin Ferrell! "I have a cold - it's not the other thing it used to be." ... Waltz With Bashir, as expected. He's said it before, but I love that comment about wanting his sons to see the war in the movie as something from an old video game.
- Laura Linney wins again. I want to see this film. ... I love how Susan Sarandon was like "HEY!" when Aaron Eckhart said her character was in the "twilight years." :P
- Gerard Butler introduces In Bruges. ... MAD-EYE!
- Seth Rogen! ... I can't BELIEVE he made that crack about Mickey Rourke and cocaine.
- First win for Slumdog Millionaire! ... Go, Simon Beaufoy! ... Every time they say "Christian Colson" I think Christian Coulson.
- What is with Steve Carell and the beard? Alec Baldwin, first in what will probably be a sweep of 30 Rock wins.
- I wonder if anyone has ever pronounced "Zellweger" correctly. Whatever the answer, that is one HIDEOUS dress, girl.
- Hee! Ralph Feinnes has almost-Voldemort hair. ... Paul Giamatti! ... Don't give your wife short shrift this time, Paul! ... LOL, he sounds winded! And I see why, after thanking the guy who got him smoking again, LOL.
- 30 Rock wins Best TV Series, as expected. Did I miss Tina's category? LO-effing-L, TRACY MORGAN! "I am the face of post-racial America!" ... "Deal with it, Cate Blanchett!" ... BEST SPEECH EVER! (even though I don't know why he mentioned Cate)
- Good to see Scott Foley again (in The Last Templar)
- Ah, Mamma Mia ... Pierce, I love you, but you cannot sing. Man, that movie is so much fun.
- You know, I think Diddy is a rather charismatic and talented actor. Okay, prolly Slumdog - YES! Here goes the song!
- There's the Tina Fey category! ... HAHAHAHAHA, "If you ever start to feel too good about yourself, there's this thing called the internet ... DianeFan, you can really suck it." *LOVES*
- And now the DeMille award for Spielberg. Wow, Scorsese compared Spielberg to Griffiths and DeMille. My goodness, Jaws was a miracle of a movie. Dreyfuss! ET!!! *cries* Empire of the Sun should be seen by more people. I can't see so much as a FRAME of Schindler's List without crying. *sigh* Private Ryan is so overrated, I'm sorry. That script bugged the hell out of me. Dude, I forgot about Night Gallery - JOAN CRAWFORD, YO! Love that they closed it with that amazing ET score - so beautiful. Scorsese is crying, and so am I! Love this story about The Greatest Show On Earth - the power of the film made the night fall. And the train movie story - man, he must have been the coolest dorky kid ever. Hehe, "am I going to get away with this?" Okay, this is not one of those fun speeches, but it's my favorite, and reinforces why I want to work in movies - it's just such a collaborative and interlocked community. Gosh, this is why he's Steven Freaking Spielberg. He is The Man.
- Awwww, Emma and Dustin. I loved Last Chance Harvey. I think Howard and Mendes are the long-shots here. .. Ah, Danny Boyle. :D THE SONG! Haha, it's the game show host guy!
- Sandra Bullock pulls the phallic joke, HA! Ooooh, Colin Farrel! Apparently I must see this movie, and soon. "They must have done the counting in Florida," LOL! "Brendan ... you can have a hemisphere."
- Sacha Baron Cohen's jokes are a little rough for this room (especially the Madonna-Guy Ritchie one). And Best Picture, Musical or Comedy goes to Vicky Christina Barcelona. Liked it, but it was a little hedonistic for my tastes, which could be said for a lot of Allen's stuff.
- The Slumdog clip. Man, I love this movie. Awww, Dev Patel is getting choked up.
- Best Actress, Drama. I'm thinking this goes to either Anne or Meryl. ... OMG KATE'S A DOUBLE WINNER!!! LOL, "I'm sorry, who's the other one?!" ... "Okay, gather." ... I love that she got to get up there and love on Leo.
- LOL, RAINN WILSON ("Hello, we're TV actors.") ... and it's Mad Men, as expected. WHY have I not watched this show?!
- Best Actor ... OMG I AM CRYING. I love you, Mickey! Wow. Good job, Hollywood Foreign Press. HAHAHAHAHA, Darren shoots Mickey the bird! Dude, how many times he can say "balls"? Awwww, he thanked his dogs! DON'T PLAY HIM OFF!
- And Best Picture to Slumdog. Excellent choice. :) Dude, it hasn't opened in India yet? Oh, I hope they love it. I think they will. :D
