My stepmother goes in tomorrow for breast cancer surgery. Several weeks ago, her doctor found three spots, one of which turned out to be cancerous and was the size of a thumb. They're going to do a lumpectomy tomorrow to remove all three spots. It's same-day surgery, but she'll be recovering for several weeks. The bad thing right now is that the surgeon has told her not to take her pain medication (which she takes for fibromyalgia) for five days before the surgery. So she's not feeling too hot right now.
I'll be at the hospital most of the day tomorrow. We're all pretty optimistic, but this is nerve-wracking nonetheless.
