Anthony Minghella died this morning from a brain hemorrhage. He directed 1996 Best Picture winner The English Patient (which also won him a Best Director Oscar), as well as The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain.
I liked Ripley and was meh about Cold Mountain, but I absolutely adore The English Patient. Minghella did a great David Lean there. He was a wonderful and sensitive director, and I'm sad he won't be around to make more films.
