A world of Wow.

Wow that one film could so concisely detail how the US got involved in Iraq and how a few people turned it into a Class A cluster-[bad word].

Wow that anyone could be so arrogant as to place truly knowledgeable people in charge of reconstruction - people who cared about the Iraqis and about making sure they were taken care of - and then ignore their expertise and say to them basically "don't let the door hit you in the can on the way out."

Wow that people who literally have their finger on the big red Button O'Doom seem so much like children with playground grudges. (Right after 9/11, a team from the Defense Intelligence Agency was ORDERED to find links between al-Qaida and Sadaam Hussein. When they came up with bubkiss, they were ignored.)

This is the kind of film Michael Moore could make if he were more interested in being a responsible documentarian than in being a propagandist. This isn't sensationalism; it's recorded testimony from people who have been to Iraq (in every capacity, from soldier to ambassador to a general in charge of reconstruction), people who used to believe in the Bush administration, and people whose utter frustration and disillusionment is nothing short of heartbreaking.

I really feel for whoever, Democrat or Republican, has to inherit this mess next January, because there is no telling how much worse it will have become, how many lies will have been covered up by then, and how few people in possession of any insight into the situation will still be around to talk sense.
