Memorable Oscar Moments - "the magic of a boring evening at home"
I thought, instead of phumpering on and on about my only slightly informed observations about the Oscars, I'd do some posts about the great moments in the history of the telecast instead. Here's one of my favorites from 1995, and it's a clip that I think encapsulates better than anything I could possibly say why the "nobodies" should absolutely get their moment to shine on television.
The woman is Gerda Weissman Klein, who was the subject of the winning documentary, One Survivor Remembers. Grab a kleenex before you click.
