If you're like me, and I know I am (MST3K joke, sorry), you've been watching the inauguration coverage non-stop. And despite all the talk about the economy and what we're going to do about Gaza, one issue has permeated all of these proceedings - what is Michelle Obama going to wear to the inauguration and the balls? The media has been trying to winkle this out of her folks for several days, and the decision appeared shrouded in secrecy. Well, now we know why, according to MSNBC's Savannah Guthrie:
The soon-to-be First Lady still has not decided.
LOL! Hardly surprising. She's been very busy in the past few weeks. She's had to move her family twice already - thanks, President and Mrs. Bush! - and is in the middle of a third and final (for a while) move. But how relatable is that? A closet full of clothes and nothing to wear! I had imagined that someone was designing something especially for the occasion, and perhaps that is still the case, but apparently she's got some options.
I know it's a kind of silly thing to even contemplate, but I love this stuff. And First Lady fashions - look at Jackie O - can have a surprising amount of cultural impact. As fun as it might seem, I don't know that I'd want to be in her place for this decision, knowing the eyes of the world were on me.
