Actor Brad Renfro, who is possibly best known for his career-starting turn in The Client at age 12, was found dead in his Los Angeles home today. No cause of death has been released.

He was 25 frikkin' years old.

I've never seen the Client, but I remember him as Huck in the movie "Tom and Huck". How awful to die so young.

Likewise. Jonathan Brandis was a complete shock to me.
As for Brad Renfro, a couple of years back he seemed to get in a lot of trouble with the police because of drug abuse. Have they release the cause of death already? I do remember him from "The Client", "Tom and Huck", "Apt Pupil", but most poignantly from "The Cure".

I loved him in The Cure, tugged at my heart so hard. He scared me in Apt Pupil which just proved to me what a good actor he was, what promise he had in his adult career if he could make the hard transition.

I guess he couldn't make the transition.

It just breaks my heart. I really liked him. He's gone, Jonathan Brandis is gone, J. Madison Wright is gone (though she had a heart condition and had given up acting by the time she reached adulthood, but still, it's sad). Too many from my generation, gone.

I just read about this on ONTD. I haven't seen The Client (though it's on my list of movies to see), but I'll always remember Brad Renfro from Tom and Huck, which I used to have playing all the time when I was younger.

I'm just so shocked by this news. I loved Tom and Huck when I was in junior high and Sleepers was brilliant. It's just so unbelievable to me that he should be dead now. And so young. This is heartbreaking :(

Yes, very sad news...he is from my area and it was the breaking news last night. He was raised by his grandmother and she still lives in the area. I feel so bad for his family. His career has been up and down lately and he had problems with drugs and alcohol. As one of the baby boomer generation, I have never understood the need for that but then that's just me.
