ETA: Thank you [livejournal.com profile] chicagoamy for the very amusing Christmas card. [/edited portion]
Why is my layout screwed up?!! AAAAARRRGH!

Okay, now that that's out of my system, I'll continue in a more civil tone.

I had a pretty good Christmas. I got some sweaters, a jewelry box, some bath stuff, and another copy of PotC (which I gave to my parents, since the copy I gave them starts jerking right around the time the Black Pearl arrives in Port Royal). I was also assured that a gift certificate to Tower or some such place was forthcoming. (squee!)

I saw ROTK again last night with the worst audience yet. I went to the theater in Franklin (with all the rich people) and this was the phlegmiest audience I have ever seen. Everyone was sniffling (mostly due to the tear-shedding), but every key emotional moment was ruined for me by the lady next to me hocking back more mucus than any human being should have residing in their entire body. I wanted to turn to her and say "For the love of GOD! Please see an ear, nose & throat specialist!"

There was a smattering of applause at the end and I could tell there was a handful of Tolkien geeks in the room who would have leapt and cheered at the appropriate times if they hadn't been in a room full of hoity-toitys.

To top it all off, though, I specifically went 30 miles out of my way because my cubicle-neighbor went to this specific theater at this specific time and saw the PoA trailer. But nooo-ooooooo. No POA trailer for me. I shall try again today. I'm also hoping to see Cold Mountain today as well, and determine if it is a serious Best Picture contender against my hobbitses.

I hope you all had a good holiday.

...theatres cheat us out of the good trailers! I have seen ROTK twice now, and no PoA trailer for me, either. Bet they're splicing it onto some kiddie movie.

Nice job on the DT lately, BTW. I see the whole Ron needs a girl like Luna to "support" (read:worship) him argument has returned. Sigh...if it keeps up, it may drag me out of lurkerdom.

Ten times, ten different screens and still no PoA trailer. I have no clue why they haven't put it on any RotK I've seen. My sister said she say it on Peter Pan, though. :P

What's wrong with your layout? *blinks* I didn't notice anything wrong, if that helps.

Do tell us how Cold Mountain goes - I read and got bored with the book, so I'm rather weary of the movie, despite the enourmous amounts of praise. Maybe I'm just not enough of a Civil War buff.

Hope your hangover clears up soon!

It may just be the computer I'm on that makes the layout look all wonky.

*and it's not a real hangover; just a weariness from the holidays ;-)*

I looooooooved RoTK... it's too bad you had such a crappy audience.

Anyway, I had a dream on Saturday night that the sixth HP book came out and Ron and Hermione got together, and we were all right. I must be having prophetic dreams. ^^

Hope you had a good holiday too!
