Bruno Kirby passed away Monday from leukemia-related complications. He was 57. Kirby played several memorable roles - Lt. Hauk in Good Morning, Vietnam, the wagon-wheel-table-owning Jess in When Harry Met Sally, and Ed from City Slickers among them.

He was one of those underappreciated actors who didn't play flashy roles, but always made the scenes they were in better. It makes me surprisingly sad to think that he won't do that for another scene ever again.

I cried when I heard the news. When Harry Met Sally is one of my all time favorite films, and not the least because he was so adorable in it. (Baby fish-mouth! Baby fish-mouth!) He was too young to go.

That's sad. This is the first I've heard of it. I always liked him in films.

Oh, that's sad--he was so young. :( Obviously, I remember him from Good Morning, Vietnam, but I think I've seen him in other things, too. *goes to look at filmography*

When Harry Met Sally... is one of my favorite movies, too, and it made me so sad to read about Bruno Kirby's passing. And I loved him in City Slickers. This is just so unfair.

I was saddened when I read this, too. I honestly only saw him in City Slickers, but he was great in that movie. Jon Lovitz was funny in the sequel, but I would have liked to see Bruno there, too.

Oh... :( That's so sad. I love When Harry Met Sally, and Jess is adorable. "Draw something that looks like anything!"
