Arrived safe and sound in SLC yesterday after a long plane ride, first to LAX then to the SLC airport. The flight was a little late, and I am not the most aggressive person in the world when it comes to pushing and shoving my way off a plane. So by the time I got to baggage claim, my flight was not even listed on any of the screens above the luggage carousels. My bag was there, though - ripped again. *sigh* But due to my lateness,
wahlee_98 had already arrived in her horseless equipage, called "Lizzy."
We made our way back to her house and fired up the laptops, and we were soon joined by Wahlee's parents, who are still two of the sweetest people ever. We watched a home renovation show on TLC and rolled our eyes at some idiot homeowner who knew nothing about what he was doing but thought he knew everything.
After a supper of yummy tacos, we headed to the hospital to visit Wahlee's brother, sister-in-law, and (most importantly) her adorable not-quite-day-old niece. There was much cooing and "awwww"ing, and I was fortunate enough to get to hold her for a few minutes and melt over her precious breathing patterns.
There was just enough time to go back to the house, wait for Wahlee's sister to get home from work, and head back out to Leatherby's to meet my still-favorite person,
lilac_bearry, for awesome french fries and obscene amounts of ice cream. There was pirate talk, though not much since
lilac_bearry hadn't yet seen Dead Man's Chest. However, I let it slip that
angua9 and I may soon find ourselves on opposite sides of a shipping war, and this led to a suggestion that we follow up our late-night ice cream binge with an even later-night Pirates viewing. We booked it over to the theater and enjoyed two and a half hours of piratey goodness before heading back to the house.
At present, I am wide awake and refreshed after a good night's (or rather morning's) sleep, and am waiting to go to church in about an hour.

I like the "instant" firing up of laptops - hee. That was great that you got to hold Wahlee's new niece - how cute! French fries and ice cream? Yum! Sounds like you all had a great night. Enjoy the rest of the day. :D
