Arrived safe and sound in SLC yesterday after a long plane ride, first to LAX then to the SLC airport. The flight was a little late, and I am not the most aggressive person in the world when it comes to pushing and shoving my way off a plane. So by the time I got to baggage claim, my flight was not even listed on any of the screens above the luggage carousels. My bag was there, though - ripped again. *sigh* But due to my lateness, [livejournal.com profile] wahlee_98 had already arrived in her horseless equipage, called "Lizzy."

We made our way back to her house and fired up the laptops, and we were soon joined by Wahlee's parents, who are still two of the sweetest people ever. We watched a home renovation show on TLC and rolled our eyes at some idiot homeowner who knew nothing about what he was doing but thought he knew everything.

After a supper of yummy tacos, we headed to the hospital to visit Wahlee's brother, sister-in-law, and (most importantly) her adorable not-quite-day-old niece. There was much cooing and "awwww"ing, and I was fortunate enough to get to hold her for a few minutes and melt over her precious breathing patterns.

There was just enough time to go back to the house, wait for Wahlee's sister to get home from work, and head back out to Leatherby's to meet my still-favorite person, [livejournal.com profile] lilac_bearry, for awesome french fries and obscene amounts of ice cream. There was pirate talk, though not much since [livejournal.com profile] lilac_bearry hadn't yet seen Dead Man's Chest. However, I let it slip that [livejournal.com profile] angua9 and I may soon find ourselves on opposite sides of a shipping war, and this led to a suggestion that we follow up our late-night ice cream binge with an even later-night Pirates viewing. We booked it over to the theater and enjoyed two and a half hours of piratey goodness before heading back to the house.

At present, I am wide awake and refreshed after a good night's (or rather morning's) sleep, and am waiting to go to church in about an hour.

I can't decide whether the thought of you and [livejournal.com profile] angua9 in a ship war terrifies or excites me.

Dittoed. Either way, I'd pay to see that. Any 'Pirates' symposiums coming up? ;)

Wheee... it sounds like such fun! I can't wait to hear [livejournal.com profile] lilac_bearry's reactions to The Movie (and of course I know she'll be on my side in the shipping war, RIGHT?!?).

If you and [livejournal.com profile] wahlee_98 get a moment in between your virtuous worship service attendance and giddy dissipation, could you weigh in on an important issue here?

Well, the Kiss of Supa-Hotness elicited more of a "What?!" from Krista, as opposed to my original reaction of "*gasp of ecstacy*". :P

Ecstasy, even.

Alls I can say is...this is a movie where a love triangle works, but I know what I want to happen in the end. Er...yeah. *stays firmly in the middle*

But that kiss really was hawt, after I got over my wthexness. That totally shocked me! And then Will being all, "If there was some way we could have saved him for you..." Just good stuff.

It was so good to see you, Pam! I hope you guys all post a lot about Lumos so I can live vicariously through all of you!

Glad you arrived safe and sound, albeit with ripped luggage - how frustrating! I don't push my way off planes but I am as antsy as can be and have ALL my things ready the second the plane stops and we're allowed to stand. For Vegas, I booked early enough to get a seat in the first few rows - woohoo!

I like the "instant" firing up of laptops - hee. That was great that you got to hold Wahlee's new niece - how cute! French fries and ice cream? Yum! Sounds like you all had a great night. Enjoy the rest of the day. :D

Let's see...A cute baby, laptops, PotC 2, tacos, french fries, ice cream. Sounds like a great vacation to me (minus the ripped bag, of course)! I hope you all have a great time! :)
