Not alcohol-induced, but a hangover nonetheless. Here's kind of how my weekend went.
Friday
Worked regular job until 12:30pm. Sat at front desk from 12:30-10:30pm - mostly buzzing people in repeatedly. And searching for Veronica Mars icons and spoilers. And watching a bit of The Princess Bride and Pirates of the Caribbean. Went home and crashed.
Saturday
Sat at front desk from 7:30am-7:00pm, doing pretty much the same thing as Friday, only without the movies, because I didn't think I'd be there as long as I was. Got a bit of my real work done at the desk and obsessed over VM some more. Also enjoyed the April Fools pranks - the good ones, anyway.
Sunday
Got to church at 7am - which came an hour earlier than it should have - and got some last minute things done for an afternoon event. Finishing preparations for this event lasted through morning worship. Event happened - which included a meal and child care. Had a couple of free hours between that event and a second, smaller event that evening. While second event was going on, helped teach 4s & 5s Bible class. Went home with blistered feet and collapsed.
Funny story about the class I taught. We had five kids - four boys and one girl (Katie). We took a bathroom break, but Katie chose to get a drink of water instead while the boys went to the bathroom.
Katie: *glug-glug-glug*
*boys are playing with the lights in the bathroom*
Katie: *glug-glug-glug*
Me: Wow, you were thirsty!
Katie: Yeah. *glug-glug-glug*
*boys come out of bathroom and line up behind Katie to get a drink*
Katie: *glug-glug-glug*
Boys: *wait*
Katie: *glug-glug-glug*
Boys: *wait some more*
Katie: *glug-glug-glug*
Tad (4-year-old): KATIE, YOU'RE WASTING OUR TIME!
Me and other teacher: *die*
I am officially and pathetically addicted to Veronica Mars. I watched an interview this morning that Rob Thomas did with Kristin whatsername (the television expert from E! news), and I cracked UP when she said she was "a huge LoVe ... Logan-Veronica fan." Yes, she used the abbreviation. I have been downloading clips from Season Two eps that I haven't seen. I was so sad to return the Season One DVD that I borrowed from a friend that I am going - a mere 24-hours later - to buy my own copy. I have a VM mood theme in the works, and am sorely tempted to change my layout to reflect the new obsession. It may just be because it's new, but the obsession has gotten so bad that my passion for HP has taken a back seat for now. LoveloveLOVE this show.
Which brings me to a good news, bad news situation. VM has been having ratings trouble this season - not surprising, since it's up against pretty much the hottest show on television right now, Lost. So I was glad to hear that it was moving back to its original night starting next week. The bad news? It's moving to Tuesdays at 8:00 - the same night and time as House, which (with the exception of the closing episodes of The West Wing) is the only other show I watch. *DILEMMA* I'm thinking I'll be taping House while watching VM - House has been renewed and doesn't need my measley contribution to the ratings.
However, as dubiously stressful as it may sound to have too many things to obsess over, it's nice to be discovering something new and getting into a new fandom. Kind of a refreshing hint that life doesn't have to be depressing after I ride out the last HP wave.

YES! It is nice to have new things to obsess over. VM and anime are keeping my interest in fannish things going strong, even though I admit I'm a bit blase about HP. I'm sure HP will make a comeback, though, when things heat up with film!OotP and Book 7.

The scheduling thing is really frustrating. I don't watch much TV but House, Lost and VM seem to be the most popular shows among my various friends... and there's a lot of time during the evenings every week, so why should they just happen to conflict? Sounds like the networks are trying to split the audience instead of sharing it, which is just l-a-m-e.

Now if we can just get the ratings up...
(mystery)
What did you think about last night's episode - if you've seen it? The scene at the Sadie Hawkin's Dance was really cute, imo.
(mystery)
I'm still reeling from the ending with Thumper. Just ... so many things contributed to his death. Yeah, the Fitzpatricks tied him up and left him, but Weevil set him up. And Molly wouldn't help Weevil. And Lamb wouldn't take the lead Veronica gave him. And the mayor wouldn't delay the demolition, even though there was strong evidence someone was still inside. And having Logan be the one who pressed the detonator ... whoa.
(mystery)
I also thought it was good that Veronica and Logan did not kiss, it's better if it takes some time. First, they have to trust each other again.
Is it okay if I friend you?
(mystery)
I haven't seen anything of Season Two since the first couple of episodes, and I barely remember those. So, basically I know that there was a bus crash. :P I'm very suspicious of Goodman, and his scene with Logan in the weight room was just ewww. Creepy McFeelsalot, anyone?
Not sure about Cassidy and Mack. The first thing I thought was that he might be gay, but I think that's far too predictable for VM. I've heard theories about him being sexually abused, and I think that's a likely reason. There are also some theories about him being responsible for the crash and that he's going to fake a suicide or something, but I have no ideas about that since I'm not that up-to-speed on this season's mysteries.
And yeah, Veronica and Logan have a lot of obstacles to get over before they can really be together. And if/when it happens, it probably won't be like it was before. But it's satisfying to know that they still have a soft spot for each other. Rumor has it we get to see a flashback of their summer fling next week. *dances*
(mystery)
Regarding LoVe: I squeed soo much two episodes ago, when they had that "espresso machine" comment and Logan showing up. That was the first spark of hope that they might get back together in the course of the series. Duncan is much too boring, imo.
You can friend me too, if you want:)
