This shiny trailer for Django Unchained is quite awesome. I'm still LOL'ing that this is a Christmas release. Just looking at the trailer, I can see the influence (in style, not necessarily content) of Farewell Uncle Tom and Drum. And of course a whole bunch of spaghetti westerns (though Tarantino calls this a "southern" rather than a western).
That guy at the end is Franco Nero, who played a different (though I suppose not that different) Django in a different movie called Django in the 1960s. I love Foxx's clarification of the silent D, mostly because the other day I heard a person who is supposed to be an industry expert pronounce it "Da-jango." *facepalm*
