connielane at 06:32pm on 22/07/2008 under obitsIn much sadder news, Estelle Getty died this morning. She was my favorite Golden Girl. When I was in the 8th grade, The Golden Girls was actually a cool show to watch. My three friends and I each named ourselves after one of the characters, and we all wanted to be Sophia.
She played lots of memorable TV roles and made a few movies, including Mannequin and, sadly, Stop or My Mom Will Shoot. She was a great dame of the small screen, and she'll be sorely missed.
But we'll always have Sicily.
