...after an insane week. At least I have tomorrow off. It is virtually impossible to get work done to any degree of satisfaction when you're in the process of moving everything you use to get things done a million times in one week. We're in the process of several "small" renovating projects, and it's turned into a Fruitbasket Turnover in the office the past couple of weeks. I've moved into my new office (door to be added later), but now my computer will not hook up to our server (because the guys who ran the wire smashed said wire during the process of building the new walls). So I can't get to my files to do anything unless I use someone else's computer.
Tonight is yet another "raincheck" night for child care (we've had to cancel two this spring due to bad weather - snow in February and tornadoes in April). It's fairly low-maintenance tonight, but I still have a bunch of things I have to do that are more complicated due to the aforementioned moving-everything-around. And in the process of writing this I've had several things go wrong with people making reservations, me writing it down and then losing my reminder notes in the many moves. GAH! *tears hair out*
Tomorrow I've got a free ticket to another church's dinner theater. They're doing Meet Me in St. Louis, which our church did a few years ago. Cute show, good songs ("Clang, clang, clang went the trolley..."), free meal - I'm looking forward to it. :P
And Sunday will be another adventure. We have our kickoff meeting for the Vacation Bible School teachers. Thank goodness I've finally gotten the hang of putting the handbook together. But there always seems to be a way to make this gathering high maintenance.
In pleasanter news, I had a rather funny run-in at my favorite lunch place today. I saw my childhood best friend, who I see maybe once in passing every year or so. I was looking for a parking spot, and passed her getting her kids in the car. It turns out that we both drive PT Cruisers. Yeah, okay, hardly newsworthy, but our childhood selves would have thought it was the coolest thing ever.
And I thought I'd take this opportunity to show off my new icons. I have 3 of this ilk, and this one is my favorite (though I don't really know if there's a proper occasion to use it). They're LotR pics (obviously) with MST3K quotes. These are the ones I thought would be funny even to non-MSTies.
