Well, I'm not disputing inevitability. Though I did become absolutely convinced R/Hr would happen first, I did predict H/G first (though I wasn't that confident in it), and definitely became emotionally attached to it first.

But that's part of what makes me sort of bitter, I think. H/G, for a lot of people, has mostly been a predictive ship, rather than an enjoyment. Harry has always been far and away my favorite character, and leaving aside the Trio (because I don't like to rank my affection for them against other characters), Ginny has always been a favorite of mine. So, like you, my favorite characters probably have a lot to do with my pairing preference.

I just wish it didn't feel so competitive, but perhaps that's only my perception.
