Yay! Some OotP news!

Here is an article from Newsweek about the OotP film - with a separate Q&A here with Emma Watson.

Not much new about the film itself, but I liked this tidbit from Watson:
David won’t settle for anything that looks like acting [laughs]. What keeps coming up a lot is his search for truth in the characters and the performances. He really wants it to be real.

I do think that the media is making a bigger deal out of her "wavering" than is really warranted. Emma has always been the one of the three who has reportedly taken much more time and deliberation to decide about whether or not to return, and she keeps coming back.

If she is that dubious about coming back, I for one would be sad to see her go. I know she's not to everyone's liking, but I rather enjoy her portrayal of Hermione, eyebrows and all. Perhaps she's not exactly canon!Hermione, but then Rupert is not exactly canon!Ron and Dan is not exactly canon!Harry either.

This comment made me want to reach through the time-space continuum and hug her, though.

[following up on being asked whether she wants to make a lifelong career of acting]
Well, you’re not supposed to have all the answers at 16.
Yeah, but people keep asking me, so I keep thinking I should know. [laughs] Everyone’s just like, “So what do you want to do with your life?” And I’m like, [sigh], ‘Right.’

*pats* Poor thing.

I also loved Dan's comment about Harry being so angry that he just chopped his hair off. :P

I actually think that she'd say as much if she were leaning more towards not coming back. I think she just wants to be absolutely sure that this is what she wants to do.

But I hate that this whole thing is the reason we're getting our first real look at the movie. I got my Newsweek yesterday, and it really struck me that the pictures are definitely overshadowed by the title "Harry Potter and the Wavering Costar." Gah. Poor girl. As if it's not a difficult enough decision for her.
