That Q&A was nice. Emma seems pretty thoughtful and pretty cool. I hope she does what's best for her.

That said, I would like to see her return, too. No, I don't think her recent performance (or maybe I should say, the combination of her performance and the directing and scripting) is anywhere near doing justice to Hermione. I think it's getting farther and farther away, in fact - in the first movie she was great. But at this point - these movies are what they are, they are flawed adaptations with some scattered delightful moments. Recasting now would just be awkward and disrupt the flow of the whole thing - and there's no guarantee whoever she was replaced with would be any better.

So I do hope Emma sticks around, just so this series has some coherence. And I hope I live to see another film adaptation where they really, really get it right. :) (Though I recognize how very hard that is when you're trying to cast actors to play children.)

Emma has always been the one of the three who has reportedly taken much more time and deliberation to decide about whether or not to return, and she keeps coming back.

True, but does past waffling on her part mean she more likely to stay (because she waffled before and still came back) or more likely to go (because she's had doubts for a long time and one day they'll grow too big to ignore)?

Unless it's her agent trying to get her more money... in which case then she is, indeed, fully likely to come back. ;)
