Thankfully, I did not get cancelled for Monday, so I have no regrets about turning down the extra shift. Since this Friday is Yom Kippur, I'm preparing myself to get cancelled again, but I haven't heard anything yet. But this isn't too big a deal to me right now because...

News of the Dumb (but exciting)
I've had a Southwest Rapid Rewards account for several years now, and I literally JUST figured out how points work. Like, an hour ago. In my defense, the way the website lists their tier system is confusing and made me think I had to buy WAY more flights in order to even earn ONE free one. But that's the tier system and not related to the simple act of using points to purchase tickets. As it turns out, I have more than enough points to fully cover both my flight to Austin (and Houston?) AND my trip to Nashville. I'll literally only have to pay the roughly $11 fee. I'm on the point of tears, I am so happy.

(Dude, I could have used my points for my Orlando flight, too! And a Universal park ticket! Though maybe not park-to-park. I could kick myself if I weren't so happy about my December travel!)

Seriously, this makes things SO much easier and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted! I can even use some points for a rental car gift certificate, so my biggest expense in Austin will probably be my hotel.
Mood:: 'ecstatic' ecstatic

It's October, and I'm steeped in my tradition of All Horror Movies All the Time. If any of you frequent Mark Spoils, you've probably seen "Pam's Movie Corner," which is where I've been posting brief (for me) thoughts on some movies, but even on that site it's been a while, and I wanted to post some stuff here (which I'll probably also cross-post to Film Shuffle).

[I've been shamefully lax about watching movies this year, having spent a great deal of time binge-watching television shows. I haven't even broken 100, which is truly an abysmally low number for me. I'm keeping a list here, though, if you're interested.]
