In two and a half weeks, I'll be in Orlando for LeakyCon and making my first first ever trip to Universal Studios theme park. More significantly, it will be my first trip to Universal's Hogsmeade and (newly opened) Diagon Alley extensions. All very exciting.
So I was tooling around the park's website, becoming slightly over-excited at the notion of being able to actually ride the Hogwarts Express between London and Hogwarts (!!!), and the fact that they have designed King's Cross to look PRETTY DANGED CLOSE to the real thing. For some reason, though, I was completely unprepared for the little virtual tour of Diagon Alley with Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid giving me the "bits and bobs" schpiel he gave to Harry once upon a time. I literally started crying.
I'm thirty-eight years old. This should not be happening to me.
I had to share this here; you guys are the only ones who will understand.
ETA: Yes, I saw the Quidditch World Cup coverage on Pottermore yesterday. I love how Rita Skeeter was totally uninterested in the game (thank goodness for Ginny, or we'd have never heard anything about it!) and assumed that everyone else was as obsessed as she was with what was going on in the VIP box with Harry and everyone else!
