You're gonna be bothered by how cool I am.

This is a big weekend for movie awards punditry. Friday night is the Broadcast Film Critics Awards (airing on VH1) and Sunday is the night of the Golden Globes. The GGs have never been very respected, but somehow in years past the Academy has followed a good chunk of its lead. Not so in the more recent history, but they're still fun to watch. GG nominees (the movie ones) and thoughts under the cut.

I'm sure you've all heard by now that Sir Ian McKellan (and Andy Serkis, of course) is officially on board to film the two Hobbit films in New Zealand starting next month.  But what you might not have seen is this blog post he wrote confirming it. 

He is so lovely, and I am so glad he will be back.
