connielane: (59th Street Bridge)
As I was walking down 11th Street, on my way to work, I spotted two people sitting at a table on the sidewalk. Now, there are obviously all kinds of cafes that have tables outside, even this time of year. But this was not an actual cafe. As far as I could tell, these two people took a table and two chairs out of their apartment and put them on the sidewalk so they could sit outside and have coffee. And for added authenticity, they painted a piece of plywood to make a sign that said "Cafe Pierrot."

I'm getting used to the normality of seeing strange things on a regular basis here, but that struck me funny.
