You may or may not have heard me express my love for a horror film blog called Final Girl, but I visit it pretty frequently and find it an excellent resource for rare vintage horror gold. Highlights of this blog include a montly "Film Club," where everyone who reads the blog watches the same movie and posts about it (this month, we're celebrating the magic of Joan Crawford in Sraight-Jacket). Also, every Friday is Awesome Movie Poster Friday, where the blogger (Stacie Ponder, who also writes for AMC's Monsterfest) dredges up some of the coolest and hysterical horror movie posters ever.
It was for last week's Poster post that Stacie found a film called The Boneyard (also called The Bone Yard, at least on the poster). I highly recommend clicking on the title above and checking out the trailer that's on the IMDB page. The movie's casting would be enough to recommend it. It has Phyllis Diller - PHYLLIS DILLER, dudes. It also has Norman Fell, a.k.a. Mr. Roper from Three's Company.
And, for you MST3K fans, it has Ed Nelson, whom you might recognize as THE ELUSIVE ROBERT EFFING DENBY!
I had this film in my Netflix queue from the moment I saw Diller's and Fell's names on the poster, but the trailer - featuring not only a zombified Phyllis Diller but also a six-foot POODLE ZOMBIE - has sent it rocketing to the top. This is a priority film, guys. Oh yes, I will be seeing it and posting about it. You've been warned.
