Ehhh. It's fairly enjoyable, but really a third-tier romantic comedy. There are some greats in the cast. I'm getting fonder and fonder of Ryan Reynolds, even though he still looks like a chipmunk to me. Rachel Weisz is the most interesting of his female costars, but she doesn't get enough to do. And Abigail Breslin is mostly adorable.
I liked the idea of a "romantic mystery," but it was fairly predictable, but not in a good way, and the way it's set up as a story for his daughter doesn't quite work for me. If you want a good romantic mystery, I'd suggest Immortal Beloved instead, though it's decidedly not a comedy. :)
ETA: There's also an interesting political element (Reynolds' character is a political consultant), and some fun references to the Clinton presidency, but when the movie sets up what should be a massive job at President Bush, it seems to chicken out at the last minute.
