You are not John Edwards, nor are you running his campaign. If he wants to press on through to the Democratic National Convention, despite the gentle mockery of you and your fellow pundits, that is his right as a natural-born citizen of the United States who is over the age of thirty-five. Maybe you need to revisit your "eight grade social studies textbook" (as Aaron Sorkin would say) for a refresher on how the primary process works. I'm a little fuzzy on the details myself (I don't understand, for example, how Hillary got more votes, but Obama got more delegates in Nevada). But I do know that delegates are not a "winner takes all" kind of thing. Edwards could not come in first in ANY state between now and the DNC and still collect delegates from all of them (though he seems not to have gotten any from Nevada, sadly).

And even if he doesn't pick up the MOST delegates, he could very well have enough come August to be the kingmaker at a brokered convention, which would (*GASP*) make for the first INTERESTING convention in who knows HOW MANY DECADES!

There are FORTY-FIVE more states who still have the chance to have a say in this nomination, sir. And if Edwards throws in the towel now, that means I don't get to vote for him on Super Tuesday. And since I may not get the chance to vote for him in November, I'd still really like to have that privilege in the primaries, even if YOU have personally given up on him.
