Watched the newest version of Persuasion this evening. Was not very much impressed. There were good parts, but I was severely distracted and desirous of throwing something at the screen every time Anne - for absolutely no reason that I could discern - looked up at the camera with a face full of emo. And though it's been a while since I've read the novel, it seemed very much liked they smashed together the last (at least) third of the novel into the final (at most) 10 minutes of the film.
I do so love that story, though. And Rupert Penry-Jones is the most beautiful Captain Wentworth I have ever seen. So that counts for something. :P Can't wait for next week's Northanger Abbey!
