I drove through much rain yesterday on the first leg of my trip to Texas. Driving alone on the open road is nerve-racking enough, but in the rain . . . after dark . . . it is quite another matter. But I arrived safely (though a couple hours behind schedule) in the happening town of Hammond, LA (*snerk*), where I stayed the night.

Today, I arrived in Houston much earlier than I planned, but made up for a little bit of that time by making every possible wrong turn on the way to [livejournal.com profile] angua9's house. I eventually found it and, with the anticipation akin to meeting one of the Beatles, finally met Angua face to face. I also had the pleasure of meeting her son and daughter. It's odd to meet someone you have previously only known online or through letters. You think you know them, but putting a face and voice with the things they've written is a bit unnerving at first.

At present, we are preparing for the arrival of [livejournal.com profile] gaidin_prime and [livejournal.com profile] queen_riley. A bottle of Captain Morgan's has been secured - in addition to the less sinful party details of ordering pizza et al - for the viewing of that pirate flick everyone seems to love so much.
Music:: drink up, me hearties, yo ho!
Mood:: piratical
