There are many, many that I'd love to list by just linking to a post, but I'm kind of saving link nostalgia for later. I'm also going to try and stay out of trouble. :P I'm also leaving off the most obvious one - discovering the books in the first place - because, duh.

- My first "Trailer Day" (wasn't technically "in the fandom" yet, but was lurking on the news sites) when the COS trailer came out; remember when the fansites used to gird their servers because a forthcoming trailer meant their site was GOING to crash?

- Joining my first fansite (Gryffindor Tower) and getting my first PM (from second_batgirl)

- OOTP release mania, including spoiler week, a tiny local meetup, the midnight party at B&N, reading like there was no tomorrow, and scouring the internet for reactions

- First in-person meetup with angua9, queenriley, and gaidin_prime

- Writing and posting the Botherfic

- Wahleecon, especially Friday night's choral reading and Saturday night's barbecue

- Pretty much the entire summer of 2004 (VDC chats, catnip, wank wars, and all)

- JKR's 2004 Christmas gift to the fandom - the news that she had delivered HBP to the publisher; I also loved that wahlee_98 and I were the first to solve the puzzle on her website that led to the message

- The announcement that Melissa and Emerson were going to Edinburgh to interview JKR

- HBP Spoiler Week (I know I would have had a more pure reading experience, but I would not have traded Spoiler Week for ALL OF THE THINGS)

- Orxmoot (the book, the dancing, the toasting, lilac_bearry's Felix-ing, and the FRIENDS)

- Lumos, which had some cool events but EVEN COOLER moments of fan fellowship

- Planning for Smoky Hallows and doing my scouting trip

- DH Spoiler Week (the Epilogue, The Carpet Book, and ensuing insanity)

- Smoky Hallows (especially what basically amounted to our commandeering of the back half of the bookstore)

- The DH trailer reigniting loads of fandom love

- Getting hooked on "Mark Reads Harry Potter" and feeling like I'm discovering the books all over again
