That's a wrap.
According to a Tweet from Warwick Davis, today is officially the last day of shooting ever for the Harry Potter films. Of course, it's far from "the end of all things" for the main actors, who'll have press junkets and other assorted duties over the next year. And some of them will even be in Orlando next week for a sneak peek at the theme park.
But for most of the cast and crew who have worked on these films for ten years, this is it.
It hasn't quite been ten years for me as far as HP goes. Just short of nine. I picked up the first book on 4th of July weekend in 2001, which will put my decade-versary just days before the final film comes out. I suppose I can has a super-sad then. :(

ETA: I am very forcibly reminded of "The Load Out", by Jackson Browne, which was in heavy rotation on my playlist in the period between the announcement and the release of Book 7. Just a perfect picture of the melancholy feeling of ending something remarkable. Doors are being slammed, chairs folded, equipment hauled off - it's time to move on to the next show ... but not before we stay just a little bit longer.
